Nescafe Dolce Gusto - Making a Latte or Cappuccino

IMG_6608.jpg

As we test the European version of the Nescafe Dolce Gusto machine, we're going to pass along our thoughts and impressions on the different drinks this hot beverage and single serve coffee system can deliver. We recently featured the "Lungo" or larger cup of coffee and now we're going to give you our thoughts on lattes and cappuccinos.

The process if very similar to making a latte or cappuccino with a standard espresso machine or a Tassimo is you have one. The lattes come packed with both a milk Smart Capsule and an Espresso Smart Capsule. The different pressure and preparation happens within the Smart Capsule. First you can either add your shot of espresso or if you are more latte focused we like to do our milk first and then espresso. Whatever your method the results will be worth it using the Nescafe Dolce Gusto.

We really like the milk even though it's powder based. We think the quality is hard to tell apart from a milk based prep, and the overall flavor of the latte and cappuccino is excellent. The mouth feel of both beverages is also very good.

We'll have more thoughts and impressions as we do more testing on the Nescafe Dolce Gusto so stay tuned.
